Southern Illinois University- was founded in 1869 as the state’s second teachers college. Today Southern Illinois University – Carbondale is one of the most comprehensive public universities in the state. SIU Carbondale is comprised of 11 schools and colleges and educates over 17,000 students every year. In addition to the numerous on-campus offerings, SIU Carbondale has created online programs to maximize the ability of the working professional to obtain degrees. SIU Carbondale’s College of Business offers a structured cohort-based, 23-month long online MBA program that is delivered by the same faculty to teach the on-campus MBA classes. SIU Carbondale’s online MBA now offers a concentration in agricultural economics. This program not only gives the foundational business coursed but focuses on the food and agribusiness industry as well.
