Portland State University
Portland State's 49-acre downtown campus is located in the heart of one of America's most vibrant centers of culture, business and technology. We are recognized throughout the world for programs like Urban Planning, Social Work, and Environmental Studies that directly engage the community, and aim our students towards the creation of a better, more sustainable world.Portland State is the only university in Oregon to offer a Four-Year Degree Guarantee. Starting in fall 2014, PSU promises that full-time freshmen who sign up for the guarantee will get the support and courses they need to graduate in four years — or PSU will not charge tuition for any remaining courses. You pay for only four years. That’s our guarantee. At PSU, our students and faculty take the classroom to the community. In Senior Capstones, students team up with local organizations to tackle civic challenges, working directly with Portland's youth and undeserved populations. These students write grants, build watersheds, tutor ESL, advocate for the arts, and much more. This program is one of the reasons why U.S News & World Report and The Princeton Review rank PSU among the nation’s best.
